Truvia® Ingredients

Truvia® is a sugar substitute made from three main ingredients: stevia leaf extract, erythritol and natural flavours. To make Truvia® Natural Sweetener, we first take the sweetest part of the stevia leaf and extract its natural flavour. But stevia leaf extract is 200 times sweeter than sugar, so to balance the sweetness we add erythritol. Then we add a special recipe of natural flavours to create great-tasting sweetness.

Truvia® vs. stevia: is Truvia® the same as stevia?

Truvia® is the brand name for our stevia sweetened products. Stevia is a plant. Steviol glycosides is the ingredient name for the extract derived from the leaf of the stevia plant. Stevia leaf extract is the primary sweetening ingredient in Truvia® Natural Sweetener, along with erythritol and natural flavours.

Are there any medical conditions that should avoid products with Truvia® stevia leaf extract?

There are no known side effects of Truvia® Natural Sweetener and it is not known to be contraindicated for any medical conditions. Allergies are not common but could occur in sensitive individuals.
