Brownies with Truvia® Natural Sweetener

Moist and chewy brownies with the rich chocolate goodness you love.

  • 3 oz. (85 g) unsweetened baking chocolate

  • 14 cup (50 mL) unsalted butter

  • 14 cup (50 mL) canola oil

  • 2 large eggs

  • 3 12 Tbsp (52.5 mL) Truvia® Natural Sweetener Spoonable**

  • 14 cup (50 mL) white granulated sugar

  • 12 tsp ( 2.5 mL) salt

  • 1 tsp (5mL) vanilla extract

  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) skim milk

  • 34 cup (175 mL) all-purpose flour

  • 12 tsp (2.5 mL) baking powder

**or 22 sachets of Truvia® Natural Sweetener ***or 16 sachets of Truvia® Natural Sweetener
  • Optional Garnish: Make powdered Truvia® Natural Sweetener by blending 2 Tbsp + 1 tsp Truvia® Natural Sweetener Spoonable** and 1 Tbsp of corn starch in a blender on high for 1 minute. Lightly sprinkle this powdered garnish on brownies using a tea strainer. Store leftover garnish in a sealed container.

  1. Assemble all ingredients.

  2. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).

  3. Place baking chocolate, butter and canola oil in a large microwaveable bowl. Heat for 30 seconds; stir.

  4. Repeat and stir to melt the chocolate.

  5. Whisk together the eggs, Truvia® Natural Sweetener, sugar, salt, vanilla and milk in a separate small bowl.

  6. Add the egg mixture to the chocolate mixture and stir until well combined.

  7. Sift together the flour and baking powder.

  8. Fold flour mixture into the chocolate mixture using a rubber scraper, until just combined. Do not over mix.

  9. Pour batter into an 8x8-inch square pan.

  10. Bake for 22-25 minutes. Do not over bake.

  11. Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack for at least 20 minutes.

  12. Cut into 16 squares.
